You think more. Maybe we CAN do something. But first, we have to talkrdquo;./strongbr/ br/ We migrated in 98rsquo; (when I was 4) and my siblings and I crossed the border like normal in a car and my parents crossed through the desert. The next day we arrived to the United States was Christmas and my parents were here.br/ The ideal thing was that we were together again but my parents wanted that we could overcome and have a better life. My mom was always focused on that we finished school, to pursue a career that we like, and things like that, because she didnrsquo;t complete more than primary school. She wanted that we continue in what we like, but that it was a studied career.br/ The difficult thing was adapting to the language and culture because specifically in Flagstaff there are not many Hispanic or Latino people and those that there are, are hidden and talk only among themselves. So I think it was difficult to be able to communicate and buy things because we couldnrsquo;t speak the language (english) yet. That was the biggest thing,- that we couldnrsquo;t do things independently. We had to ask for help because we didnrsquo;t know how.br/ If we were going to do anything we had to be ready to translate. Itrsquo;s like it was your job or responsibility, because, well, you help your parents because they are taking care of you, but you are paying something in return also. Yes, since childhood until now we still take turns between my siblings for who is helping them.br/ I think storieshellip; to have a talk like this between you and Ihellip;. is more impactful and gives you more and opens your mind and heart. You think more. Maybe we CAN do something.
