This fear affects the family a lot and we donrsquo;t want to think about it. But we hear something small and the (negative) possibilities come to mind. You don't want to imagine that this could happen to you.rdquo;/strongbr/ br/Raising the kids has been beautiful. It has helped me to learn many things and I also teach them things that I go through. At times, I share things that I have gone through so that they see that it is not easy and that they have opportunities that I did not have at their age. br/In regard to immigration, it has been difficult because there is a fear of family separation. They have heard and know of that. We have talked a lot with them because it is a possibility that we have, so they should know that it could happen, so if it does happen they know what to do and we do also.br/ br/If we donrsquo;t talk about it, they are going to continue having this fear. We donrsquo;t want it to happen and we have been thinking positive that it is not going to happen, but we have to look at what reality is and what the possibilities there are. So, they know about that (family separation), yes, they are afraid, and they havenrsquo;t said it. We have not shared a lot about that. For that same fear, we begin to talk about it and they say, ldquo; We donrsquo;t have to talk about thatrdquo;, and we change the conversation.br/ br/I think it has affected them most in their form of communicating. Situations have happened at school because other students know that their parents are immigrants, or Mexicans, or Latinos, and they tell them things. Moments like that happen, so they come and ask us and we have to tell them and then motivate them somehow.br/ br/I think it is the situation, itrsquo;s sensitive, that personally affects how each person is. This fear affects the family a lot and we donrsquo;t want to think about it. But we hear something small and the (negative) possibilities come to mind. You don't want to imagine that this could happen to you. It is difficult to live with this fear, thinking about what could happen.br/ br/And another difficult thing is financial also, they want a bedroom and other things but we cannot give that to them because we donrsquo;t have opportunities that others do have. To tell that to the kids now is not possible because it is hard for them to understand. They see their friends and others with all of that. Right now, they donrsquo;t understand it because it is complicated, but as a father and mother it hurts to not be able to give them something good.br/ br/********************************************br/ br/ br/XXXXX es de Cuernavacas, Morelos, Meacute;xico y llegoacute; con su familia a los Estados Unidos cuando teniacute;a 12 antilde;os de edad.
